TV Latina Screenings Festival: Disney Latin America’s Fernando Barbosa

Fernando Barbosa, the senior VP and general manager of media networks, production, distribution and acquisition at The Walt Disney Company Latin America, spoke to TV Latina’s Elizabeth Bowen-Tombari, kicking off the second day of the TV Latina Screenings Festival.

During the conversation, which you can see here, Barbosa said: “In Latin America, we have four production pipelines. One is Kids & Family, which mainly feeds Disney+, the second is general entertainment, which provides mainly for Star+, the third we call National Geographic factual, unscripted factual that provides for both platforms, and then we have an unscripted production pipeline that also provides for both platforms.”

Barbosa also highlights the importance of original content development from the region in regard to Disney+’s consolidation, the creativity in the stories they receive and his view on working with new talent and offering new opportunities.
