At the TV Latina Screenings Festival, Barbora Suster, director of Latin America and Iberia at Eccho Rights, talked about the appeal of Turkish dramas, which after a decade, have consolidated on a wide range of platforms, not only in Latin America but around the world.

“From the beginning, I had mentioned that Turkish drama was not a trend, but a genre that was here to stay,” she said in a conversation that you can view here. “The consumption of the Turkish novela has changed throughout the years. Initially, buyers bought everything. Today, they know their audiences very well and are aware of what will work and what won’t. Turkish drama was mainly responsible for paving the way for other content that wasn’t local, and they’ve proven that they do work.”

Suster also talks about the synergies with CJ ENM, the importance of closing deals with OTT platforms and the most recent in-demand titles.
