The TV Latina Screenings Festival wraps today with several leading global content distributors highlighting a range of offerings, from thrillers, dramas and biopics to reality shows, musicals and comedies. 

At the TV Latina Screenings Festival, Barbora Suster, director of Latin America and Iberia at Eccho Rights, talked about the appeal of Turkish dramas, which after a decade, have consolidated on a wide range of platforms, not only in Latin America but around the world. 

Alejandro Rincón, CEO at Endemol Shine Boomdog, spoke to Elizabeth Bowen-Tombari, the editor at TV Latina, about the company’s recent endeavors, among them La casa de los famosos for Telemundo and the partnership with Cholawood Productions and Kate del Castillo. 

During a TV Latina Screenings Festival session, Dago García, the VP of production and content at Caracol Televisión, talked about the company’s venture in the Mexican production market, the Vicente Fernández bioseries and Caracol’s associations with platforms around the world.  

Karen Barroeta, the executive VP of production and development at Telemundo Global Studios, spoke to TV Latina’s Elizabeth Bowen-Tombari about the synergies in her roles and responsibilities during her 20-year career at Telemundo, along with highlighting the high demand for Spanish-language productions.

In conversation with Elizabeth Bowen-Tombari, editor at TV Latina, Federico Cuervo, the senior VP and director at VIS Americas, spoke about the company’s main contributions to Paramount+’s growth, as well as the strategies for working on multiple productions simultaneously.

Fernando Barbosa, the senior VP and general manager of media networks, production, distribution and acquisition at The Walt Disney Company Latin America, spoke to TV Latina’s Elizabeth Bowen-Tombari, kicking off the second day of the TV Latina Screenings Festival.

As part of the TV Latina Screenings Festival, José Manuel Lorenzo, the president and founder of DLO Producciones, talked about the evolution of his work as a creator and producer after more than two years of the pandemic.

The first day of the TV Latina Screenings Festival included Leonardo Padrón, creator of Netflix’s Pálpito, and José Ignacio Valenzuela, creator of the streaming giant’s ¿Quién mató a Sara?, who talked about how they’ve evolved through their productions’ many themes.

Luis Zelkowicz, winner of an International Emmy for El señor de los cielos, recognized as the best U.S. non-English prime-time production, as well as Telemundo Studios’ writing director, spoke with Elizabeth Bowen-Tombari, editor of TV Latina, on the new wave of this global success.
