The churn rate for OTT video services is 19 percent of U.S. broadband households, according to Parks Associates, meaning that roughly one in five households has canceled a streaming service in the last 12 months.

OTT video service adoption has increased 12 percent among U.S. broadband households since 2014, according to Parks Associates data. Parks Associates notes that adoption of OTT video subscriptions has increased by 12 percent since Q3 2014, with the number of available services and consumer awareness both increasing, despite password sharing growing by approximately 8 percent over that same time.

Study: Netflix Has Lowest Churn Rate Among OTT Services

About one-fifth of U.S. broadband homes canceled at least one of their OTT video services in the last year, though Netflix had the lowest churn rate, according to Parks Associates. In the last 12 months, 20 percent of U.S. broadband homes had canceled, and in Q2 2015, just 18 percent had done so.
