ViacomCBS Ups Senior Executive Darío Turovelzky

Darío Turovelzky, former senior VP of global content at ViacomCBS and Viacom International Studios (VIS), has been promoted to general manager of ViacomCBS for South Cone and senior VP of global content.

Turovelzky will continue reporting to JC Acosta, president of ViacomCBS Networks Americas, and will lead and manage the South Cone markets of Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay, while keeping his key role in the ViacomCBS brands’ content strategy (Telefe, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., MTV, Comedy Central and Paramount Network) at South Cone. As part of his management team, Guillermo Campanini, actual COO at ViacomCBS South Cone, will report directly to Turovelzky.

Turovelzky has more than 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry and an extensive career in content creation, creativity, production, innovation and programming. In 1996, he joined Telefe to produce and develop content. He then worked as an executive producer on projects such as Popstars and The Amazing Race, while he had an important role in RGB Entertainment as content director, in charge of production, content development and programming in countries such as Brazil, Chile, Panamá and Argentina.

In 2012, Turovelzky returned to Telefe as programming and acquisitions manager, having the challenge of planning and managing the production of fiction and entertainment content for the channel. In 2016, after ViacomCBS’s acquisition of Telefe, he was appointed to a key role for the business in the South Cone region, in charge of global content the company’s entire portfolio of brands, such as MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Paramount Channel and Telefe. A year and a half later, in 2018, he incorporated new responsibilities with the creation of VIS, a unit for the development, production and distribution of ViacomCBS contents around the world.
