TV Latina Screenings Festival: SOMOS Distribution’s Francisco Villanueva

In conversation with Elizabeth Bowen-Tombari, editor at TV Latina, Francisco Villanueva, VP and COO at SOMOS Distribution, highlighted the importance of the group’s original series developed by SOMOS Productions and the expansion and consolidation of its catalog.

“Producing our own series offers an important boost to distribution,” he explained in a conversation you can view here. “It places the distributor in a direct relationship with the big platforms, allowing us to place third-party content, as they are our most important clients. This gives us the opportunity to have a leading role in the relationship.”

During the interview, Villanueva also revealed the new productions they are working on, including La muerte del rey and Sueños y gloria, the importance of RCTV’s portfolio and Novavision, as well as the distribution of Greek series.
