Cisneros Media & Comarex Change Distribution Strategy

Cisneros Media Distribution (CMD) is planning to focus on content sales and the development of original programming for its cable channels, while Comarex, on top of its distribution role, will up its development and marketing activities for original ideas in global co-production.

In order to combine their new strategies this year, both companies are ending the previous distribution deal for the CMD catalog, although they will continue to work together on new projects.

CMD has lined up Itoydani Corporation (led by Daniel Rodriguez), which will be in charge of content sales for Latin America, while Sahara Management (led by Cristobal Ponte) will concentrate on content sales for EMEA. José Loreto Arismendi, the VP of programming strategy at Cisneros Media, will coordinate the distribution activities for both companies beginning at NATPE.

“We are very grateful to Comarex for their work during 2017, and are thrilled to work again with two executives that for a long time were part of Cisneros,” said Jonathan Blum, the president of Cisneros Media.

Marcel Vinay Jr., the CEO of Comarex, added: “We thank CMD for the trust placed on Comarex and we are looking forward to this new business phase, where we will showcase new concepts and productions during NATPE at suite 585 Versailles Tower.”
