Novela Channel Pasiones Debuts in Chile

MIAMI: The telenovela channel Pasiones has gone live on Telefonica's DTH platform Movistar TV in Chile.

With the deal, the channel, a subsidiary of Hemisphere Media Group, is now available in all Movistar TV markets, including Colombia, Peru and Venezuela. The channel can be found on the Plan HD Pro platform in Chile.

“We’re thrilled to complete the rollout of Pasiones on the Movistar TV systems throughout Latin America. Viewers can enjoy HD access to the best telenovelas and serialized dramas from Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, Peru, Argentina and Korea, as well as top local productions from Chile,” said Alan J. Sokol, the president of Hemisphere Media Group. “We are confident our superior programming will help drive subscriptions to Movistar TV’s HD service.”

Pasiones has 4.2 million subscribers in the U.S. and 8.9 million subscribers in Latin America.
