Venevision Productions Signs Up Radio DJ Enrique Santos for TV Show

MIAMI: Venevision Productions, a Cisneros Media company, is set to develop a TV show hosted by popular Hispanic radio DJ Enrique Santos.

That show will air on Univision Communications’ UniMás network. Santos, who signed a multiyear deal with Venevision, is the star of the Enrique Santos Show, which is broadcast on Univision Radio’s Miami affiliate and simulcast to other cities around the U.S. He also hosts the weekly program Uforia Countdown.

“Enrique has been a Univision Radio talent for many years and we were looking for the right opportunity to bring his versatility and talents to the TV screen,” said Alberto Ciurana, the president for programming and content for Univision Communications. “We feel this new program is the right vehicle to showcase his unique personality and ability to relate to people.”

Jonathan Blum, the president of Cisneros Media, stated: “Enrique’s addition to the Cisneros Media team follows our strategy to continue meeting the ever-changing needs of an audience that is becoming increasingly younger. Enrique has done an amazing job connecting with this younger audience through his daily radio show, and I have no doubt that he will be just as successful reaching them through his TV show whether it be here in the U.S. on the UniMás network or in other international markets in which this program will be made available through Cisneros Media Distribution.”

Santos added: “I’m excited about taking my broadcast career to the next level. People used to always say to me, ‘You have the perfect face for radio,’ but now the joke is on them since soon I’ll be in their face thanks to the magic of television, or whatever mobile device they have in front of them.
