Telemundo Ups Richard Borjas to Production VP

MIAMI: Telemundo has elevated Richard Borjas to VP of production, a newly created position.

In his new role, Borjas will manage the development and production of multiple programs for the channel, including Un Nuevo Día and Suelta La Sopa. He will continue to work out of Miami under Jesus Torres Viera, Telemundo’s executive VP of entertainment.

Borjas is a seasoned producer with more than 20 years of experience, five of which were at Telemundo, where he launched and exec produced such productions as La Voz Kids. He has also produced a number of reality formats, including Yo Me Llamo and Yo Soy El Artista. He first joined the network as a producer on the variety show Pa`lante con Cristina.

Earlier in his career, Borjas was a supervising producer for The Balancing Act on Lifetime. He was also a producer at Univision Network for more than a decade, during which time he worked on the Cristina Show.
