International distributors confirming their attendance include Cineflix and FremantleMedia from the U.K.; American Public Television, Shoreline Entertainment and Splash Entertainment from the U.S.; Kanal D (Turkey); Off the Fence (Netherlands); Global Screen (Germany); ARTE (France); Yle (Finland); and Armoza Formats (Israel). MIPCancun is expected to be fully subscribed with a total of 40 distribution companies.

“Reaction to the inaugural MIPCancun has been excellent and confirms the growing importance of the Latin American television market,” comments Laurine Garaude, the director of Reed MIDEM’s television division. “The format, where buyers and sellers sit down face-to-face, at pre-arranged meetings and are guaranteed full schedules, has proved extremely popular. It gives buyers, some of whom may not attend MIPTV or MIPCOM, access to international distributors, while providing sales companies with the chance to concentrate their efforts on the Latin American market.”
