SÃO PAULO: Two of Brazilian broadcaster Globo’s channels are due to debut in the U.K. through a deal with telecom company TalkTalk.

The agreement will see the launch of the Globo international network and PFC, which specializes in Brazilian soccer, through IPTV. TalkTalk, a triple-play network, will offer the services to subscribers through its Brazilian TV Boost package. The deal was reached in partnership with THEMA, which aggregates foreign TV channels into TV packages targeted at diaspora communities.

“We’re very happy about this partnership with TalkTalk,” said Raphael Corrêa Netto, the executive director of international business at Globo. “We know that there are a lot of Brazilians all over the U.K. and we’re delighted to bring Brazilian entertainment, sports and news into their daily lives.”

Henrik Karlberg at TalkTalk said: “We’re excited to be offering even more fantastic world channels to TalkTalk TV customers. Customers who miss the World Cup can tune into our Brazilian Boost, which offers the best of Brazilian football all year round, as well as hit entertainment shows and news 24/7. PFC and Globo are great additions to our flexible monthly boosts and allow customers to dip in and out of their favorite shows from home or afar.”

François Thiellet, the CEO of THEMA said: “We are very glad to make Globo and PFC channels available in a country where international communities thrive. And there is no better partner than TalkTalk to reach our audience.”
