NBC Universo to Air Spanish-Language Super Bowl

LOS ANGELES: U.S. Hispanic cable channel NBC Universo is set to air the exclusive Spanish-language broadcast of this Sunday’s Super Bowl XLIX on multiple platforms.

The live game coverage will be available to viewers through their cable, satellite or telco provider. Additionally, both the tournament and a special pregame show will be available online as free previews of the network’s TV Everywhere offering via desktop streaming. The network will also air nine consecutive hours of football-related programming the day of the championship.

NBC Universo was formerly known as mun2. Its official rebranding is due to take place Super Bowl Sunday.

“We’re proud to re-launch as NBC Universo in conjunction with the biggest sporting event in the country, and to bring to the most Latino viewers possible the Super Bowl telecast in their language,” said Rubén Mendiola, the network’s president. “Our mission is to bring Latinos the best in sports and entertainment, and we’re excited to bring together such a quality football experience that can be shared so broadly, whether with your family in the living room, or wherever you may be connected from a laptop.”
