Of all the new programs that launched across Latin America last month, La Voz… Kids (México) stirred up the most buzz in social media, according to The WIT.

The children’s singing contest, a local adaptation of the format of the same name, is a spin-off of the format The Voice. The debut of the series on Las Estrellas in Mexico saw around 28,000 comments across Facebook and Twitter.

O Rico e Lázaro, which premiered on Record TV in Brazil, garnered some 26,000 tweets. The telenovela is inspired by Old Testament parables and is set during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II, the destroyer of the Temple of Solomon.

Also in Brazil, the debut of Novo Mundo on TV Globo drew approximately 25,000 social-media comments. The period telenovela revolves around Ana Millman, a young teacher in charge of teaching Portuguese to Maria Leopoldina of Austria, whereas she is leaving for Brazil to marry Pedro I, emperor of Brazil.

Perdona nuestros pecados debuted on Mega in Chile and stirred up around 15,000 tweets. The period telenovela is a story made of suspense, intrigues and passions that takes place in the ’50s within the family clan of the formidable Armando Quiroga.

TVN in Chile launched La colombiana last month, drawing some 13,000 comments on Facebook and Twitter. The telenovela charts the romance of a recently separated, slightly misanthropic owner of a grocery store, and a Colombian immigrant who moves into the neighborhood.

Around 10,000 tweets were made about the debut of O11CE on Disney XD Latinoamérica in Argentina. The teen series portrays the adventure of Gabo, a teenager living in a remote village of Argentina who is offered a scholarship to realize his dream of becoming a professional footballer in Buenos Aires.

Ingobernable debuted on Netflix and around 8,400 social-media comments accompanied the launch. The Spanish-language political thriller series tells the story of the runaway of Mexico’s First Lady after being accused of the death of the President, and the many dirty secrets that will be revealed in the country’s highest political spheres.

Nickelodeon Latinoamérica premiered Heidi, bienvenida a casa in Argentina to around 6,600 tweets. The live-action kids’ series is based on the classic children’s book Heidi ,by Johanna Spyri.

There were some 4,600 tweets about the debut of Divina, esta en tu corazón on ElTrece in Argentina. The music-themed youth series is co-produced with Televisa (and pre-launched in November 2016 on its SVOD platform Blim). Divina is a young woman who lives on the street in a shabby neighborhood, alongside other abandoned young people, for whom she cares as best as she can.

Capping off the list at number ten is Imparables, which debuted on Chile’s Chilevision. Around 3,700 comments were made about the show on social media. Imparables is a dancing contest searching for the country’s best dancer. The 25 contestants are coached by professionals, including urban dance duo Power Peralta.
