Funimation Launches in Brazil, Mexico

The anime streaming platform Funimation has launched in Brazil and Mexico, with series subtitled in Portuguese and Spanish, respectively, and some shows available dubbed.

The platform is now available online, with apps and Smart TV launches to follow in 2021. The SVOD Premium Plus tier is available at 24.90 Reais per month in Brazil and 99 Pesos per month in Mexico.

The platform launches in these two markets with more than 1,500 hours, covering 200-plus series and movies, including My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, Overlord, Sword Art Online, Fruits Basket and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

“At Funimation, we want to connect and serve fans the world over,” said Colin Decker, CEO of Funimation Global Group. “We see a large and vibrant community in Latin America who have waited patiently for our service to come to their region. We saw that it meant a lot to these fans, and so we challenged ourselves to go live ahead of schedule. I’m very proud to say that we got it done—just in time for the holidays.”
