ESPN Deportes Ups Exec

BRISTOL: Freddy Rolón has been promoted to VP of ESPN Deportes programming and business initiatives from his former position of senior director II of ESPN Deportes radio and business initiatives.

Rolón will be based at ESPN’s worldwide headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut, and report to Lino Garcia, the general manager of ESPN Deportes. He will lead the ESPN Deportes programming team and continue to be responsible for ESPN Deportes Radio and the ESPN DeportesLA.com. In his former position, Rolón was part of the launch team behind ESPN’s local sites. He began his ESPN career as an intern for ESPN International in the summer of 2003.

"For the past seven years, Freddy has successfully overseen the growth and expansion of the ESPN Deportes Radio network, and the development of the local .com business,” Garcia said. “We are excited to have him bring his valuable experience and leadership to our programming efforts.”
