Discovery en Español Undergoes On-Air Revamp

MIAMI: Discovery en Español is evolving its brand with a new on-air look and feel, complemented by a refreshed programming lineup of more than 170 hours of series and specials.

 

The Spanish-language pay-TV network has implemented a character-centric makeover. The new graphics package puts talent as the central focus, with each signature motif designed to be bold, authentic and energetic.
 
“Today’s viewers want to feel like they are part of something. With the introduction of our new on-air look we are not just inviting people to watch a show,” said Gabriela Woodman, the creative director for Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic. “We are asking them to experience life with us. It is no longer a matter of satisfying curiosity. We want to ignite it. Before the new brand identity we would show you a beautiful shark jumping out of the ocean, now we are going to show you its teeth.”
 
Alongside its new look, the channel is also extending its programming with the introduction of nine new series, more than 20 specials, eight returning shows and stunts, including Egypt Week. The network is also increasing its investment in its interactive platforms. The site will also feature the revamped look of the network and complements on-air activities through experiential games, informational videos and blogs.
