Caracol’s The Voice of Freedom Airs in Russia

BOGOTÁ: Russia’s Raz TV has picked up the series The Voice of Freedom, distributed by Caracol TV Internacional.

The channel will air the program at 10:30 p.m. every Tuesday through Friday night. Produced by CMO for Caracol Television in Colombia, The Voice of Freedom chronicles the life of the singer Helenita Vargas, a woman with a powerful voice who defied her family and the high society of her time. Ana Maria Estupiñán and Majida Issa play Vargas as a teenager and as an adult, respectively. The rest of the cast features Laura Garcia, Leonardo Acosta, Diego Cadavid and Luis Fernando Montoya, among others.

Recently released in Panama, Thailand, Mexico, Chile, Venezuela, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico, the production relies on elaborate details that recreate the ’50s and ’70s, the decades where Vargas’s story takes place.
