Globo Partners with MediaPro to Air Brazilian Soccer in Europe & Asia

SÃO PAULO: Globo has inked a three-year deal with Spanish sporting rights company MediaPro for the European and Asian broadcasting rights of three Brazilian soccer leagues.

The agreement, which will span from 2016 to 2018, is for the Brazilian League, São Paulo State League and Rio de Janeiro State League. The package includes 172 matches, along with the exhibition rights for the programs Footbrazil and Footbrazil Highlights.

Portugal, Croatia, Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Macedonia, Kosovo and Slovenia are not covered in the deal. China and Spain rights will be negotiated in 2017.
