U.K. Ad Market Sees Growth in Q1, Drop in TV Spend

U.K. advertising expenditure grew 1.3 percent year-on-year in the first quarter to reach £5.31 billion ($6.9 billion), according to the Advertising Association/WARC Expenditure Report, marking the 15th consecutive quarter of growth but the slowest rate in four years.

GroupM Downgrades U.K. TV Ad Forecast

GroupM has revised its 2017 U.K. advertising forecast from a previously projected 7-percent growth down to 4.1 percent. U.K. advertising is expected to see its eighth consecutive year of growth, with the 4.1-percent increase in spending taking the industry to a predicted investment of £18.6 billion ($23.6 billion).
