Warner Bros. Discovery has ordered three new Thai originals exclusively for HBO and HBO GO in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Warner Bros. Discovery has expanded its alliance with AIS in Thailand, clinching a deal that includes the rollout of a new HBO channel pack and the HBO GO streaming service.

This year, there have been strong hits from the Warner Bros. Discovery portfolio, including the HBO original House of the Dragon and shows made in AsiaPac.

HBO GO, WarnerMedia's streaming platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, has unveiled new subscription packages and its content lineup for the remainder of 2021.

HBO GO, WarnerMedia's streaming service in Asia, will feature new Warner Bros. releases 45 days after their theatrical premieres in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

HBO GO is WarnerMedia’s regional streaming service in Southeast Asia, currently available to audiences in eight territories—Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Taiwan and Indonesia—either via distribution partners or direct to consumers via app stores.

WarnerMedia’s streaming service HBO GO has expanded its Asian reach, landing new agreements with Taiwanese MSO Taiwan Optical Platform (TOP) and Cignal TV in the Philippines.

Following launch agreements with distribution partners in Taiwan early this year, HBO GO can now also be downloaded as a standalone service.

Discovery’s Simon Robinson, Netflix’s Tony Zameczkowski, Viu’s Helen Sou and WarnerMedia’s Clément Schwebig weighed in on the streaming wars and the impact of COVID-19 on the media business in a panel at the AVIA OTT Virtual Summit this week.
