Tyler Perry Adds Series to Netflix Partnership

Tyler Perry has added a multiyear first-look deal for series to his existing creative partnership with Netflix.

The first series under the new deal is Beauty in Black, a 16×1-hour drama written, directed and produced by Perry. The show follows two women leading very different lives: Kimmie is struggling to make a living after her mother kicked her out, while Mallory is running a successful business.

Angi Bones and Tony Strickland will also produce for Tyler Perry Studios.

Perry and Netflix formed their creative partnership in 2023, under which Perry will write, direct and produce feature films in a multiyear first-look deal.
