NBCU Shuffles Execs as Ted Harbert Departs

LONDON: A series of executive changes have been announced by NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke, as Ted Harbert, chairman of NBC Broadcasting, exits the company.

Kevin MacLellan has become chairman of global distribution and international, adding oversight of domestic television and new-media sales to his current responsibilities leading the international businesses. MacLellan has served as chairman of NBCUniversal International since 2013. He is responsible for day-to-day operations and international expansion for NBCUniversal businesses outside of North America, with a focus on increasing non-U.S. revenues and driving business growth. He recently oversaw the launch of the hayu SVOD service in the U.K., Ireland and Australia.

Mark Lazarus will expand his duties and become chairman of NBC Broadcasting and Sports. George Cheeks and Paul Telegdy of NBC Entertainment will assume responsibility for NBC’s first-run syndication business. Maggie McLean Suniewick will become president of NBCUniversal Digital Enterprises.
