Venevision Productions Names Director of Content & Artistic Development

MIAMI: Venevision Productions, a Cisneros Media outfit, has named Mexican actor and director Carlos Santos as its director of content and artistic development.

Santos will be based at Cisneros Media’s production studios in Miami, where he will report directly to the executive VP of operations, Juan Carlos Sosa. An alumnus of Televisa’s Center for Artistic Education (known by its Spanish acronym, CEA), Santos has worked with several theater companies and with important Spanish-language television networks in the U.S. and Mexico. As part of the Venevision Productions’ directorial team since 2010, Santos has been a director for the productions of telenovelas such as Eva Luna, Rosario, Cosita Linda and the teleseries DeMente Criminal.

“Among his new responsibilities, Carlos will oversee the design and development of stories and scripts, as well as the talent and casting departments, in addition to supervising the artistic direction of our productions,” Sosa said. “Carlos comes as part of the renewal process of the company’s talent, which I initiated immediately upon my appointment as head of the studios at the end of the past year.”
