MIAMI/LOS ANGELES: Spanish-language U.S. network Discovery Familia has signed a cross-platform programming deal with Latino media company MiTú that will make MiTú’s content available for the channel’s TV and digital audiences.

As part of the agreement, Discovery Familia will premiere the long-format version of two new series, Casa Linda and Gurús de Belleza. Both shows were originally produced in-house and incubated on MiTú’s owned and operated YouTube channel MiTú Life. New episodes of the digital series will continue to run on MiTú Life, while original episodes of the TV series will air weekly on Discovery Familia. Casa Linda is due out November 20 and Gurús de Belleza December 12.

“At Discovery Familia, we are committed to being at the forefront of the evolving media landscape,” said Bilai Joa Silar, the VP of content for Discovery Familia and Discovery en Español. “With this strategic partnership we have the opportunity to continue to expand our content offering, leveraging up-and-coming MiTú talent and reaching our audience with storytelling that travels across platforms.”

“MiTú has become an amazing breeding ground and destination for discovering and developing new Latino talent and programming formats,” said Beatriz Acevedo, the president and co-founder of MiTú. “We couldn’t be more excited about this partnership with Discovery Familia, as MiTú shares the same commitment to providing high-quality, aspirational content for Latino audiences around the world.”
