Univision’s UVideos Available on XBox 360 LIVE

LOS ANGELES: Univision Communications is bringing its UVideos digital network to the Xbox 360 LIVE Gold platform starting in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Through the UVideos application, users can interact with and discover the programming from the Univision portfolio of networks. Authenticated users can access thousands of hours of content across multiple genres, including telenovelas, music, sports and movies. UVideos also has a social discover feature, allowing users to see what their friends are watching or follow their favorite Univision personalities, and Univision’s synched social stream.

The application will include short- and long-form programming and catch-up VOD. There will be a Spanish- and English-language user interface, as captioning of top programming in both languages.

“Our audience heavily over indexes in the use of digital devices and UVideos will provide a fully integrated, immersive and community-based viewing experience never seen before. Before UVideos, this tech-savvy target was largely underserved as an audience when it came to content and programming. We applaud Microsoft for their efforts in helping meet this demand,” said Renee Plato, the senior VP of digital distribution at Univision Communications. “As the leaders in serving Hispanic America, and as part of our strategy to offer a Univision branded content experience everywhere, we are thrilled to broaden and strengthen the viewing and social experiences for our community through Xbox LIVE.”

“We are excited about the opportunity to bring Univision to the Xbox
LIVE service,” added Ross Honey, the general manager of Xbox LIVE entertainment and advertising at Microsoft Corp. “Our partnership with Univision marks a significant milestone in our mission to make the entertainment people love more amazing on Xbox.”
