Spanish-Language Version of Breaking Bad Set for Simulcast Premiere

MIAMI: Metástasis, the Latin American adaptation of the hit AMC series Breaking Bad, will premiere via simulcast on three Univision Communications channels next month.

The Spanish-language remake will air June 8 at 10 p.m. on UniMás, Univision and Galavisión before settling into its regular time slot on UniMás. That network will broadcast the series Mondays through Fridays at 10 p.m.

A Sony Pictures Television production, Metástasis recreates Breaking Bad’s plot in a Latin American setting, following modest high school teacher Walter Blanco (Diego Trujillo) as he enters the drug-trafficking industry after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. He uses his extensive knowledge of chemistry to start a methamphetamine lab with a former student, José Miguel (Roberto Urbina). Sandra Reyes stars as Walter’s wife, Cielo Blanco, and Julián Arango plays Henry Navarro, Walter’s brother-in-law and a member of a police narcotics division.
