Passion Sells 188 Hours in Latin America

LONDON: Latin American broadcasters, located in territories such as Brazil, Mexico and Argentina, have purchased 188 hours of programming from Passion Distribution.

Once TV in Mexico made a deal for the first two seasons of Paperny Entertainment’s Consumed as well as The Asgard Project: Britain’s Best Climber from Posing Productions and Searching For… from OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

In Brazil, Globosat signed up for OWN’s Finding Sarah: From Royalty to the Real World, Searching For… and season one of In the Bedroom with Dr Laura Berman.

Pan-Latin American agreements saw Discovery licensing all three seasons of UKTV’s Dynamo: Magician Impossible, OWN’s I am Jazz and Extraordinary Moms, Raw TV’s Strictly Soulmates, Landmark Films’ Being and both seasons of Scripps Networks International’s Restaurant Stakeout

The first season of Man v. Food Nation from The Travel Channel was picked up by Fox Life. Other content involved in the Pan-Latin American deals include Scripps Networks International’s second season of The Antonio Treatment and seventh season of Design Star, as well as season four of Paperny Entertainment’s Eat Street.

Beatrice Rossmanith, the sales manager for Passion Distribution, remarked: "The diversity of these deals demonstrates the high level of demand in the region for Passion’s documentary, lifestyle and factual entertainment series, which continue to be very successful with their originating broadcasters. It is also reflected in the steady growth in demand."
