Paramount+ Unveils New Slate for LatAm

Paramount+ has revealed its new slate of original content that is set to premiere in Latin America, including Brazil, as early as Q3 2021.

The slate is produced by ViacomCBS’s global studio, VIS, in partnership with content creators and producers from around the world.

“Our primary focus is to bring together the greatest storytellers from around the globe to create locally relevant stories that resonate with our Paramount+ subscribers,” said JC Acosta, president of ViacomCBS International Studios and Networks Americas. “We’re honored to partner with the premiere, globally renowned content creators and voices to add even more value to our incredible Paramount+ offering.”

The initial list of Paramount+ originals for Latin America includes La Gran Ola (The Greatest Wave), starring Diego Boneta as big-wave surfer Carlos “Coco” Nogales, and a limited series based on The Air Disaster by J.G. Ballard. At Midnight is a romantic comedy starring Boneta about two people who’ve chosen not to fall in love. The thriller Medusa (Jellyfish) revolves around a group of friends who escape to a paradise resort for a weekend getaway.

Susana, Invitada de Honor (Guest of Honor with Susana) will see Susana Giménez be the guest as she visits friends and other international celebrities at their luxurious homes. Dr. Ballí is a docuseries based on the life of Alfredo Ballí, a doctor from Monterrey, Mexico, that was convicted for murdering his lover and inspired the creation of Hannibal Lecter. Adriano Imperador (Adriano the Emperor) is a documentary series about the life of one of Brazil’s greatest soccer legends. Based on the successful MTV global format of Jersey and Acapulco Shore, Rio Shore follows the lives of ten housemates at a vacation home in Río de Janeiro, Brazil.

As Seguidoras (The Followers) is a dark comedy thriller that centers on a digital influencer who becomes obsessed with her image and is willing to protect it at all costs. The dramedy El Primero de Nosotros (The First of Us) follows a group of friends whose lives are changed when unexpected news inspires them to explore their feelings and find the real meaning of life.

A VIS production in collaboration with Z Studios, the drama El Día Menos Pensado (When You Least Expect It) explores all facets of human relationships. Ricardo Arjona–Hecho A La Antigua (Made The Old Fashioned Way) is a Paramount+ exclusive concert.

An action-comedy film created and directed by Guel Arraes, Os Fora Da Lei (The Outlaws) is about six people that become outlaws on motorcycles. The scripted biopic series Anderson “The Spider” Silva tells the story of the Brazilian mixed martial artist.

Siendo Pampita (Being Pampita) is a ten-part docu-style series that showcases the life of Argentinean TV host and model Carolina “Pampita” Ardohain. Marley & Mirko gives an exclusive look into the life of the Argentinian TV host Alejandro “Marley” Wiebe and his son Mirko. In Manos Arriba Chef (Hands Off Chef), Argentinian professional chefs Germán Martitegui, Donato De Santis and Damián Betular will compete against each other.

Parot is a co-production between RTVE and VIS in collaboration with Onza, based on the 2013 decision to overturn Spain’s Parot Doctrine. The feature-length film Nieva en Benidorm (It Snows in Benidorm) tells the story of Peter Riordan, a solitary and methodical man obsessed with meteorological phenomena.
