NUVOtv Picks Up Ricky Martin Doc SuperSong

LOS ANGELES: An online doc tracking the development and recording of Ricky Martin’s official World Cup song is slated to make its television debut this summer on NUVOtv.

Titled SuperSong, the hour-long special will air on the U.S. Latino network June 8 at 10 p.m. The doc will follow the experiences of singer Martin and music producer Salaam Remi as they recorded the soccer tournament’s anthem. That song, “Vida,” was the winning entry in a worldwide contest launched last December by Sony. The special has already aired online on Crackle.com.

“We think that NUVOtv is the perfect destination for SuperSong because it connects Latino superstar Ricky Martin, music and one of the most anticipated events of the summer—the World Cup—to our viewers,” said Bill Hilary, the network’s executive VP of programming.
