Motor & Family Shows Lead Discovery U.S. Hispanic’s 2016-17 Slate

MIAMI: For the 2016-17 season, the Discovery U.S. Hispanic portfolio of channels will focus on popular genres such as adventure and motoring, as well as home and family.

Discovery en Español is scheduled to debut series such as Sacred Steel (Acero Sagrado), which will take viewers inside one of the most exclusive and unusual bike clubs in the world. Meanwhile, The Last Ninja (El Último Ninja) chronicles a 30-day competition to see who will enter a secret order and become the titular last ninja.

Other productions include Patagonia: Edge of Earth (La Patagonia), which will reveal the landscape, diversity of habitats, rich wildlife and remote cultures of the South American region; and Pancho Villa: El Más Buscado (working title), about how the leader of the Mexican Revolution became a target for one of the most powerful armies in the world.

The network will also broadcast new episodes of popular original series such as Texas Trocas and Mexicánicos as well as Alaskan Bush People (Alaska Hombres Primitivos), Dual Survival (Desafío X 2), Diesel Brothers, House of Horrors: Kidnapped (Secuestrados) and Barrett-Jackson Live.

Over on Discovery Familia, new titles include Hidden Money Makeover (Decorar Sin Gastar), in which design expert Jill Martin and handyman Gage Cass show people around the country that their dream makeover isn’t out of reach; and Meet the Putmans (Conoce A Los Putmans), about 25 people who live under one roof and pool all of their finances to help raise kids as one family unit. Also debuting is Two in a Million (Dos En Un Millón), where two people who share the same medical struggles meet and spend one week together.

The network will also bring back original series such as 90 Day Fiancé (Todo en 90 Días), My Giant Life (Cuestión de Altura), My 600-lb Life (Kilos Mortales), Say Yes to the Dress (Vestido de Novia) and Cake Boss.
