LatAm VOD Hub Qubit.tv Goes for BBC Worldwide Titles

VANCOUVER: BBC Worldwide has licensed a slew of content to Latin American VOD service Qubit.tv, including dramas such as Life on Mars and Wallander.

The deal was for ten dramas, among them Ordinary Lies and Death in Paradise, along with kids’ content such as Little Robots and natural-history documentaries such as Wild Brazil and Wild Patagonia. The BBC programming will be available to clients in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Paraguay and Uruguay.

“As the digital transformation continues to make headway in the region, audiences begin to have new needs and expectations, and this is undoubtedly affecting the way content is viewed,” said Anna Gordon, the executive VP and managing director of BBC Worldwide Latin America/U.S. Hispanic. “That’s why this is such an important deal for BBC Worldwide, since it shows our firm commitment to reach a large number of consumers and fans of our programming in Latin America with options that complement what we offer in traditional platforms.”
