HITN Preps Spanish-Language Version of BBC’s Click

NEW YORK: The Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network (HITN), which promotes educational content, is airing a Spanish-language version of the BBC’s digital technology program Click starting today.

The 24 Spanish-language episodes will begin rolling out on HITN TV today, marking the first time the Spanish-language version of the show will be available to audiences in Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market. It will soon begin broadcasting in Uruguay on Antel’s Vera+ platform, and in Mexico, where it will air on Sistema Público de Radiodifusion del Estado Mexicano (SPR) via the Una Voz con Todos digital TV platform.

“As part of our ongoing mission to promote and present educational content, we are proud to offer our viewers the Spanish-language version of Click, an innovative series that covers new developments in digital technology and platforms,” said HITN’s director of programming, Florentina Almonte. “In this digital age, it is more important than ever for the public to stay up to date with the latest technological breakthroughs and trends.”

Click’s weekly exploration of the new frontiers of technology and innovation already makes it one of the most-watched and trusted technology programs in the world,” commented Carey Clark, the news features editor at BBC. “We are all delighted that our new Spanish-language editions will open up the show to many more viewers.”

“We are excited to be extending the reach of one of the BBC’s established brands amongst Spanish-speaking audiences, offering our technology reporting—this time with a Latino accent,” added Frederick Durman, the BBC World Service’s head of business development for Europe and Latin America.

The Spanish version of Click is a collaboration between the BBC’s Spanish-language service, BBC Mundo (part of BBC World Service) and BBC News, and Argentina’s Non Stop Digital.
