Endemol Shine Boomdog Taps Jerry Rodriguez to Lead Scripted

Banijay Americas’ Endemol Shine Boomdog has appointed Jerry Rodriguez as head of scripted content and senior VP.

Rodriguez, who most recently served as chief creative officer at ArgosMedia Group, is an International Emmy Award-winning producer and director. In his new role with Endemol Shine Boomdog, he will lead the scripted team, which is behind the upcoming series Todo por Lucy, a reimagined version of I Love Lucy.

At ArgosMedia Group, where Rodriguez had worked since 1999, he was responsible for the creative supervision of all the scripted and unscripted content. He also oversaw all marketing, media and branding materials for ArgosMedia and all of its companies.

He served simultaneously as general director for Mexico City-based Headroom, where he managed a ten-person in-house team responsible for project development, creative direction and production of drama and comedy series. Rodriguez produced and served as showrunner on Dani Who?, produced and directed three seasons of Comedy Central Latin America’s Drunk History and produced five seasons of Stand-Up Comedy for Comedy Central.

In 2017, Rodriguez won the International Emmy for Outstanding Music Direction for ESPN’s Olympic Suite and was nominated for Disney Channel’s Casting Zone.

“Jerry brings with him a wealth of TV production oversight and experience, and he’s the perfect executive to help us lead our forthcoming expansion of scripted development and output,” said Alejandro Rincon, CEO of Endemol Shine Boomdog. “He also has tremendous relationships with all of the key buyers in the marketplace and a true understanding of what it takes to launch and successfully promote new series.”

Rodriguez added, “I’m very excited and honored to join the Endemol Shine Boomdog team. I know that together we will continue to create successful Latin American productions, delivering high-quality content to satisfy the enormous demand of powerful, hilarious and heartfelt stories in our countries and abroad.”
