MIP Cancun Unveils New 2021 Headliners

MIP Cancun, taking place from November 16 to 19, has revealed new View from the Top keynote speakers, including executives from Banijay, Endemol Shine Boomdog, Telemundo and TV Azteca.

Juan Ponce, senior VP and general manager of Hispanic streaming at Telemundo, will share his vision for the newly launched service and discuss content and co-production strategies.

TV Azteca Executive VP and Chief Content Officer Sandra Smester will highlight the company’s content and co-production strategies while discussing the evolution of the TV industry in the Latin space.

Dopamine’s CEO, Fidela Navarro, will share the company’s co-production goals in Mexico, Latin America and the rest of the world, as well as its content strategy in the premium scripted area.

From FWRD MGMT, writer Raphael Montes and CEO Noah Jones will analyze how today’s Brazilian market can provide growth opportunities and how talent can reach international audiences.

Marie Leguizamo, managing director of Mexico and U.S. Hispanic at Banijay, and Jerry Rodriguez, senior VP of scripted programming at Endemol Shine Boomdog, will discuss their visions for the newly launched Banijay Americas production studio in Mexico, focusing on unscripted original content in the Mexican and U.S. Hispanic markets.

Among the other speakers already confirmed is Marcelo Tamburri, head of scripted content development at WarnerMedia Latin America. A conversation between Caracol Televisión’s Catalina Porto Urdaneta, executive production manager, and Arlen Torres, executive producer, and Gaumont’s Christian Gabela, senior VP and head of Latin America and Spain to discuss production strategies in Latin America has also been confirmed.
