Olympusat 360 Restores Spanish-Language Classics

WEST PALM BEACH: Olympusat’s digital film production facility, Olympusat 360, has restored a slate of classic Spanish-language films to their original form, and is now offering its restoration capabilities to the international market.

Olympusat owns one of the largest libraries of independent Spanish-language films in the world. To date, Olympusat 360 has restored a slew of films, including La Escondida, Póker de Ases, Las Momias De San Angel, Los Campeones Justicieros, La Vida No Vale Nada, Carcel De Mujeres and Atacan de las Brujas.

The company does scanning, restoration, color correction and remastering. Olympusat 360’s services are now available to new companies wanting to restore films, TV shows, commercials, documentaries and more.

“Each movie is like a time capsule,” said Tom Mohler, the president and CEO of Olympusat, Holdings. “We capture it from the film negative, then turn it into a digital asset, which is forever restored in history—all while helping to preserve the iconic culture of Mexican and Latin American Cinema.”

“We needed classic movies for our new Classic HD film network, Ultra Clásico,” added Albert J. Estrada, the senior VP of business development. “And we found that none of the movies that we wanted to include on our network were in the proper video and audio condition for HD delivery, so we decided to develop our own facility to master this process. Since then we have restored classic as well as contemporary Spanish-language films, which include optical scanning, restoration and color correction.”
