Leadership Shakeup for Endemol Shine UK’s Central Creative Team

LONDON: Jamie Ormerod is stepping into the role of creative director within the central creative team at Endemol Shine UK, with Nick Mather, who currently occupies the position, due to leave the company later this year.

Ormerod currently serves as the head of entertainment and formats for the central creative team at Endemol Shine UK. He began his career at Endemol UK as a creative intern and was part of the team that created Golden Balls (ITV). He also held several creative roles at the BBC and RDF, before returning to the company in 2014 as the head of development at Remarkable Television. He joined the central creative team last year.

Mather’s credits at Endemol Shine UK include co-creating the BBC One game show Pointless, as well as ITV2’s The Almost Impossible Game Show, among other accomplishments. He took on the role of creative director of the central creative team in 2015.

Richard Johnston, the CEO of Endemol Shine UK, said: “Nick has played an invaluable role in making creativity central to everything we do. He has been behind some of our most popular shows and will leave with our heartfelt thanks and best wishes for his future endeavors. We are thrilled to have Jamie stepping up; he is a passionate and innovative thinker and ideally suited to lead our central creative team.”

Mather commented: “It has been a pleasure to work with some of the best creatives and program makers in the business during my time here. Together we’ve created some innovative and groundbreaking shows both in the U.K. and around the world. I must say I’ve loved every minute of it and I will miss the team enormously, but the time feels right to take on a new challenge.”

Ormerod added: “One of the great things about TV is that sometimes you’re lucky enough to work with one of your closest friends. Nick’s always been hugely supportive of me and together we’ve built a brilliant department that houses some of the best young creatives in the industry. Needless to say, I’m very excited to be stepping up to this new role and to lead the team I began my career with.”
