Winter Debut Set for ABC Miniseries on Bernie Madoff

BURBANK: ABC has slated a February premiere for Madoff, a two-part television event starring Richard Dreyfuss as convicted conman Bernie Madoff.

The four-hour scripted special is inspired by ABC News Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross’s reporting from his book The Madoff Chronicles and additional reporting on the topic. Lincoln Square Productions is producing, in association with ABC Entertainment.

Joining Dreyfuss is Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actress Blythe Danner as Madoff’s wife, Ruth. The miniseries will explore the complicated family dynamics within the Madoff clan while exposing the motivations and mechanics behind the family patriarch’s Ponzi scheme, considered to be the largest financial scam in U.S. history.
