Production Kicks Off on Spy Series for EPIX

NEW YORK: Production has begun on the ten-part contemporary espionage series Berlin Station, set to premiere on premium TV network EPIX in 2016.

The series is produced by Paramount Television and Anonymous Content. Shooting will take place in Berlin, and the show will debut on EPIX next fall. Berlin Station, about a CIA officer who is assigned an undercover mission in Berlin, was ordered straight to series. Richard Armitage plays the lead, with Michelle Forbes, Richard Jenkins, Rhys Ifans, Tamlyn Tomita, Leland Orser, Richard Dillane and Bernhard Schütz rounding out the rest of the cast.

New York Times best-selling spy novelist Olen Steinhauer (The TouristAll the Old Knives, The Cairo Affair) created the series and is also an executive producer. Other executive producers for the series include Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, The Curious Case of Benjamin ButtonThe Insider, MunichHouse of Cards), and Steve Golin, Kerry Kohansky-Roberts, Keith Redmon and Luke Rivett from Anonymous Content. Michaël Roskam directs and also serves as an executive producer.
