GMA Network’s drama Green Bones has been picked up by Netflix to stream worldwide on June 19.

The film stars Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid and is produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs, with Brightburn Entertainment as a co-producer.

Green Bones follows the life of the soon-to-be-released prisoner Domingo Zamora (Trillo), who was imprisoned for the murder of his sister. His release is put in jeopardy when a new prison guard, Xavier Gonzaga (Madrid), is determined to keep him behind bars. The drama dives into the belief that “the presence of green bones in a person’s remains is proof of one’s goodness in life.”

The drama is directed by Zig Dulay and based on the original concept by GMA Public Affairs’ senior manager for documentaries, JC Rubio.
