Sarah Rose Named President of Channel 5

Sarah Rose has been appointed to the role of president of Channel 5 and U.K. regional lead for Paramount.

Rose will now oversee Channel 5 and the My5 platforms in the U.K. and will maintain her commercial oversight of Paramount’s pay-TV brands in the U.K.

Rose had been serving as chief operating and commercial officer, executive VP for broadcast U.K. and international studios at Paramount Global. Prior to joining Paramount in 2020, Rose was chief consumer and strategy officer at Channel 4.

“The U.K. is a critical and priority market for Paramount, and we continue to see success across our portfolio, from Channel 5 and My5 to Paramount+, Pluto TV and our iconic pay-TV brands,” said Pam Kaufman, Paramount’s president and CEO of international markets, global consumer products and experiences. “Sarah has over two decades of senior leadership experience in the broadcasting and streaming industry. She has a track record of delivering strategic, commercial and business success across all three of the U.K.’s largest commercial public service broadcasters, and I am confident Sarah’s skills and expertise will further our strategic priorities in a meaningful way.”

Ben Frow will continue as chief content officer, reporting to George Cheeks, president and CEO of CBS and chief content officer, news and sports for Paramount+, and to Rose.

Lee Sears, executive VP and head of international advertising sales and integrated marketing, will assume ad sales responsibility for Channel 5, with the ad sales team in the U.K. reporting to Sears.
