Peacock has given a straight-to-series order for The ‘Burbs, a reimagining of the 1989 film of the same name, starring Keke Palmer (Nope, Password) and coming from Brian Grazer (Empire, Arrested Development) and Seth MacFarlane (Ted).

Set in present-day suburbia, The ‘Burbs will follow a young couple returning the husband’s childhood home. Their world is upended when new neighbors move in next door and bring old secrets to light and new deadly threats.

UCP (Suits, Ted) is the studio behind the series, which is the latest project from Fuzzy Door under its overall television deal with the studio.

The series adaptation is being written by Celeste Hughey (Palme Royale, Dead to Me). Hughey will also be executive producing, alongside Palmer; Fuzzy Door’s MacFarlane, Erica Higgins and Aimee Carlson; and Imagine Entertainment’s Grazer, Kristen Zolner and Natalie Berkus. Dana Olsen, writer of the 1989 film, will serve as a co-executive producer.
