Electric Entertainment Launches Video Podcast Network

The Los Angeles-based production company Electric Entertainment has launched a new podcast network, Electric Surge, which will be home to a variety of shows, including The Rebel & The Rogue: A Star Wars Podcast.

The video versions of the podcasts will be available on the recently announced ElectricNOW linear channel. The new podcast network will feature already popular programs, and over 100 hours of programming has already been produced. The Rebel & The Rogue: A Star Wars Podcast sees hosts Jason Tobias and Bevin discuss the films with special guests.

Electric Surge podcasts are produced by Bill Ritter, Natalie Masciale and Cynthia Jean Hajj. Mark A. Altman, Dean Devlin, Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan-Wilson serve as executive producers.

The other podcasts currently available on Electric Surge are: Inglorious Treksperts With Mark A. Altman & Daren Dochterman, which each week sees hosts Altman (Free Enterprise) and Dochterman (Star Trek: The Motion Picture—Director’s Edition) take a deep dive into uncharted pockets of the Star Trek universe with a myriad of special guests; Best Movies Never Made, a discussion of the best motion pictures never made and dream projects that never saw the light of a projector bulb; The 4:30 Movie, an homage to the classic ABC 4:30 Movie, in which a panel of filmmakers and TV showrunners curate a fantasy theme week of films from “War Movies Week” to “Alien Invasions Week”; and Disco Nights with Chase Masterson, which sees the eponymous host joined by a special guest each week as they discuss episodes of Star Trek: Discovery.

Joining the lineup later this fall are podcasts devoted to Dr. Who as well as the Best TV Never Made.

Devlin, CEO of Electric Entertainment, said, “We are excited to be bringing to audiences these podcasts made for die-hard fans, by die-hard fans. We are lucky to have such a highly-engaged audience.”

“I’m thrilled to be working with Dean Devlin to help curate and produce top-flight podcasts spotlighting the most significant aspects of popular culture,” said Altman. “In a short time we’ve managed to amass a dedicated and extensive fan base for our line-up of podcasts, thanks to our approach of combining entertainment with expertise from all our hosts who are leaders in their fields.”
