Vuulr, a new online content marketplace for film and TV rights, is planning an international rollout to enable thousands of buyers and distributors worldwide to negotiate and transact directly with content distributors and owners.

Launched across Asia in January 2019, the Singapore-headquartered Vuulr features TV and film content from producers and distributors such as Sony, Picture Tree International, Banijay Rights, Warner Media, CNN and Toonz Media Group—with over 30,000 hours across some 60 genres and 70 languages. Buyers already registered on Vuulr include Walt Disney Co, ViacomCBS International Media Networks, Super RTL, iflix and HOOQ.

Vuulr is free to use for buyers and for distributors to list their catalogs. It then Vuulr levies a competitive commission fee on the seller only upon a successful sale. As well as traditional flat-fee licenses, the platform enables VOD platforms to make offers with performance pricing models based on estimated viewer count, stream length, share of advertising or subscriber revenue.

Vuulr CEO Ian McKee said: “We’re delighted to announce the international launch of Vuulr, as we continue our mission to transform distribution and acquisition in the film and TV ecosystem. Our unique online marketplace is already helping our distributor and producer partners across Asia and beyond negotiate directly in new territories whilst providing new opportunities and flexible terms for linear and digital buyers and we’re excited to roll out our platform to the global content industry.”
