Crown Media Reorganizes Programming Department

Crown Media Family Networks is making a number of changes to its programming team, including appointing Documentary Channel alum James Holcomb as VP of physical production.

In his newly created position, Holcomb will ensure efficient production across Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. He will help oversee all aspects of production operations at the company. He previous served as The Documentary Channel’s chief operating officer.

Crown Media also elevated Angela Polk from director of development to VP of original development for specials. In addition, Heather Overton and Jennifer Phillips, former managers, were promoted to directors of development for scripted programming, while Jennifer Kramer was upped from manager to director of development for unscripted programming.

Holcomb, Polk, Overton and Kramer are working out of Studio City under Randy Pope. Phillips is based in New York, also reporting to Pope.

“Over the past several years, we have exponentially increased and diversified our original production slate, making it imperative that we restructure and expand our department,” said Michelle Vicary, Crown Media’s executive VP of programming and network publicity. “The addition of James to our team, as well as the promotions of Angela, Heather, Jennifer and Jennifer to elevated and more specialized roles, will allow us to more effectively manage and produce our amplified volume of original content.”
