LOS ANGELES: Critical Content, which was born out of Relativity’s television division, and Machinima have entered into a co-development deal for scripted and unscripted projects.

Through the partnership, the two companies will be developing both new and derivative content. The programming will be platform agnostic, with a focus on linear television as well as digital. This could also include distribution via Machinima’s Many-to-Many programming service. The projects developed as part of the partnership will include both traditional network-financed projects as well as projects financed by advertisers and other third parties.

Critical Content CEO Tom Forman said: “Machinima’s content is smart, loud, different, and always well-executed. That’s exactly the kind of stuff we love and make at Critical Content. We look forward to collaborating with a proven digital innovator.”

“Machinima succeeds in our quest to bring the best gaming and fandom entertainment to Millennial audiences because we work with the most talented people in the world,” said Machinima CEO Chad Gutstein. “That’s why we are so excited to announce this co-production partnership with Tom, Andrew and the team at Critical Content—they have a proven track record as world-class producers. We are excited to see the amazing creativity that will result from combining Machinima’s digital strength and global reach with Critical Content’s TV prowess.”
