Univision Appoints VP of News

MIAMI: Univision has named Patsy Loris as the VP of news, a role that, among other things, sees her working with ABC to launch Fusion.

In her new role, Loris will be overseeing Univision News evening and late night news, its weekend edition, news segments for Wake Up America and operations of Univision’s news division. Loris will also be hiring the news team and developing concepts and ideas for Fusion. Loris had previously been serving as senior news director for Univision News. She has been part of the Univision family since 1989.

“For the last 24 years, Patsy has helped shape the editorial content of the most trusted and influential news programs on Spanish-language television in the U.S.,” said Coronell. “She is a distinguished professional and a consummate leader who has played an instrumental role in the growth and success of Univision News, and we are confident that she will continue to make invaluable contributions to Univision in her new role.”
