Scripps Networks International Staffs for Brazil Role

NEW YORK: Scripps Networks International has hired Adriana Alcantara as its production and digital director for Brazil, effective immediately.

In her new post, Alcantara will oversee digital strategy, content creation and development, as well as the production and creative strategy for Scripps' networks in the region. She will report to Márcio Fonseca, the company's managing director for Latin America.

Alcantara previously served as iTunes' head of movies for Latin America and Iberia at Apple. Prior to that she was the head of content, programming and production for Oi, a telecommunications company in Brazil. She has also worked for Globosat, Viacom Networks, Disney Channel in Brazil and NBC in New York.

Fonseca commented: "We are thrilled to have someone of Adriana's caliber joining our team. Her extensive experience in the region gives her a keen understanding of local tastes which will be instrumental as she leads our digital and content production strategy."
