Of all the new programs that premiered in Latin America last month, Apocalipse on Record TV in Brazil had the most social-media buzz, according to The WIT.

In the telenovela, which is based on the last book of the New Testament but set in a near future, Rio de Janeiro is haunted by a serial killer who murders his victims in strange rituals. The debut episode saw around 29,800 comments on Facebook and Twitter.

The debut of Todas las tardes on Canal 9 in Argentina drew around 29,400 tweets. The talk show sees presenter/actress Maju Lozano review the news in a light manner, along with four regular panelists, focusing on the latest gossip, trends and social media.

Approximately 14,100 tweets followed the premiere of Caiga quien caiga (CQC) on Chilevision in Chile. The new local adaptation of the format takes a humorous and irreverent look at the week’s highlights in economics, politics, sports and showbiz.

Chile’s TVN launched ¿Dime quién fue? to around 12,800 Facebook and Twitter comments. The thriller telenovela centers on Laura, a young woman who after attending culinary school in Europe comes back to Chile to seek justice for her mother’s death after she was murdered.

Also in Chile, Diana on Canal 13 saw some 5,600 tweets. The live talk show is fronted by popular host Diana Bolocco in a format mixing humor and interviews, in which she welcomes celebrities for surprising conversations while trying to bring them out of their comfort zone.

Over in Mexico, Me declaro culpable on Las Estrellas drew in around 3,400 social media comments. The local adaptation of the telenovela format Por amarte así tells the love story between a prestigious lawyer and the client he represents.

Chilevision in Chile saw some 3,200 tweets with Inspiradores, Querer Es Poder, a talk show that invites charismatic personalities (entrepreneurs, artists, scientists, etc.) to deliver powerful motivational speeches on leadership, happiness, inspiration and more.

Again in Chile, Hola y Adiós, historias de aeropuerto resulted in approximately 2,900 Facebook and Twitter comments when it premiered on Canal 13. The local adaptation of the format Hello Goodbye focuses on the emotional reunions and farewells at the arrivals and departures lounges at the Santiago airport.

Mexico’s Las Estrellas drew in around 2,400 tweets with Sin tu mirada, a telenovela adapted from the classic Venezuelan format Esmeralda (already adapted by Televisa in 1997) about two babies exchanged at birth that fall in love when they meet as adults.

And in Colombia, La culpa es de Llorente on Comedy Central Latinoamérica saw some 1,100 social media comments. The local version of the entertainment format La culpa es de Colón sees comedians deliver a funny, sarcastic or offbeat vision of the country’s culture and lifestyle.
