Of all the new programs that launched in Latin America last month, A Força do Querer‘s debut on TV Globo in Brazil generated the most buzz on social media, according to The WIT.

The telenovela watches as two young men fall in love with a girl from the Amazon. They lose touch and chance brings them together 15 years later, reviving the love triangle. Around 77,000 comments were made on Facebook and Twitter about the novela’s debut.

Dancing Brasil on Record TV in Brazil generated around 31,000 tweets. The local adaptation of the format Dancing with the Stars sees a group of celebrities team up with professionals each week to perform a different dance. They are judged by a professional panel and the audience.

Also from Brazil, Os dias eram assim on TV Globo saw some 26,000 social-media comments. The period series is set during the military dictatorship between 1970 and the end of the ’80s. Renato and Alice meet during the final of the 1970 World Cup and fall in love, but the political views of their families will ultimately separate them. There were around 26,000 tweets about the debut.

TV Globo’s Show dos Famosos generated some 15,000 tweets. The new local adaptation of the music-driven entertainment show Tu cara me suena (Your Face Sounds Familiar) previously aired on SBT in 2014 on the entertainment show Domingão do Faustão.

Another TV Globo show, Vade Retro, saw around 11,000 tweets. The fantasy thriller follows a young female attorney who suspects the client that hired her for a divorce procedure to be the devil himself.

La reina de la canción, which launched on Univision, had around 5,000 social-media comments. The talent search lets viewers at home help discover the next great female singer in the regional Mexican music genre.

Telemundo’s Guerra de Ídolos garnered around 4,000 tweets. The telenovela follows the story of a Mexican folk music idol, whose death is the spark that ignites this story of betrayal, rivalry, love and the search for fame at any cost. It is co-produced with Netflix.

From Mega in Chile, Tranquilo Papá saw approximately 3,000 tweets about its debut. The telenovela tells the story of Domingo, who had a tough upbringing, far from the comfort of our time, and his spoiled children, who grow up in irresponsibility and ease…until Domingo decides to no longer concede anything to them and give a radical turn to their education: if they want something, they will have to suffer and work to earn it.

The launch of MasterChef Uruguay on Canal 10 also saw around 3,000 comments. The local adaptation of the MasterChef format watches as a team of three experts sets out to find the best local gourmet chef among 24 amateur cooks.

El dilema debuted on Latina TV in Peru and around 2,000 tweets were sent about it. The psychology entertainment show is an adaptation of the format broadcast in Argentina as a section in the late-night show Animales sueltos on América TV. Host Ricardo Morán presents celebrities with uncomfortable dilemmas. The viewers vote from their homes via an app to try to guess the answers of the celebrities.
